Do you turn up the AC when too many guests make the house warmer? A 100 watt light bulb generates as much heat as about one person. If your room or house gets too hot, keep the lights off where you don't need them, or use dimmers to keep the wattage lower instead of turning down the thermostat. Or, where possible, switch out bulbs for CFLs.
